Golf Fitness Facts
Golf is a highly athletic event. Ninety percent of peak muscle activity is achieved when hitting the golf ball which is the same intensity as lifting a weight that can only be lifted four times before total fatigue. Within a round of par golf the ball is hit with this level of intensity 30 to 40 times. (Paul Chek, Golf Biomechanic's Manual)

A low handicap is achieved through consistent performance. Consistency requires a good swing to be constantly reproduced. To achieve this more than a good set of clubs is needed. The golfer must have the optimal physical execution (a.k.a. a good swing) to produce the proper clubface alignment, swing path, angle of impact and speed. The golfer needs to have optimal flexibility, core strength, balance/stability, functional power and mind's focus to have a great game of golf.
